Vindula erota belongs to Nymphalidae and is commonly called the Large Cruiser or Common Cruiser. [1]
The Kunming museum identification account describes males as ochre-yellow with dark brown markings and zigzag transverse lines. Females are larger, with grey-brown wings, white median fields and two hindwing eyespots. [6]
Chicago Botanic Garden reports males feeding on human perspiration. [1]
The dorsal female view shows the pale band against grey-brown fields. The paired ventral view presents the underside pattern and the hindwing eyespots. [6]
The pale cross-band and repeating marginal marks organize the female composition. Bold outlines separate the specimen from the ornamental frame.
Keep framed specimens enclosed and away from sunlight, persistent damp and strong heat. Handle the frame, document changes inside it and seek advice before opening or cleaning the specimen. [4]
