Prioneris cornelia belongs to Pieridae and is recognized at species rank in the Florida Museum catalogue. [1]
The Sabah Forestry Department account describes white forewings with dark veins, the female carrying more extensive black markings. Forewing length is 40–42 mm. Compared with the female of Delias blanca, cornelia is larger and has a more pointed forewing. [3]
Vollenhoven published cornelia in his monograph of Pieris, with an illustration on plate II. Its later generic combination is Prioneris cornelia. [2]
The dorsal view displays the white forewing fields, dark veins and pointed outline. The extent of the dark markings differs between the sexes. [3]
Bold contours emphasize the pointed wing silhouette, while restrained internal linework preserves the dark venation. The contrast between pale fields and veins is central to the illustrated pattern.
Display framed specimens away from direct daylight and damp conditions. Inspect the enclosure for moisture, pests and loose parts without touching the wings. [4]
