The 3rd Pentacle of Mercury

Four named angels enclose a wheel of eight varied Mercury characters. Its invocation also extends to the following pentacle, where spirit-command opens into hidden knowledge and the work of envoys. [1]

Eight spokes radiate from one point to different crossed circles, crescent forms, a triangle, stacked bars and a rectangle. A company of Mercurial angels

The third notice serves to invoke spirits subject to Mercury, particularly those written in the figure. It expressly joins this pentacle with the fourth. Mathers gives four angelic names: Kokaviel, Ghedoriah, Savaniah and Chokmahiel. Their groups occupy the four sides of the enclosing band. [1]

Eight unlike characters

Four diameters meet to form eight spokes. Their ends vary: a crossed circle sits on the right; the upper-right sign includes a triangle with curved surrounding strokes; the upper spoke carries stacked bars; other ends combine crescents, small circles and a rectangular outline. Mathers calls these the mystical characters of Mercury. [1]
