Prosperity and peace of mind

The second Jupiter notice combines glory, honours, dignities, riches and all kinds of good with tranquillity of mind. It also discovers treasures and chases away the spirits who preside over them. The book specifies virgin paper or parchment, a swallow’s pen and screech-owl blood for the written figure. [1]

Names within the six-pointed star

Two overlapping triangles form a star with a small circle at each of its six tips. AHIH, Eheieh, occupies the central field. The letters of AB—the Father—lie in the upper and lower points; IHVH occupies the remaining four. More Hebrew letters stand outside the star, among its inward angles. [1]

Mathers tentatively identifies those exterior letters with the first two words of the surrounding verse. The rim itself is Psalm 112:3: wealth and riches in the house, with righteousness enduring for ever. A small looping ornament appears at the band’s top. [1]

The Psalm describes someone who fears the Lord and delights in the commandments. Its wealthy household belongs to a larger portrait of graciousness, compassion, lending and giving to the poor. A fixed and trusting heart faces evil tidings without fear, beside the verse’s enduring righteousness. [2]
