Apple-green spots contrast with the black upper wings. The Singapore account describes short hindwing tails, longer in females, and a purple-brown underside with green markings and reddish details. [3]
At Visakhapatnam, females laid single eggs on young mast-tree leaves. In the study, eggs hatched in 3–4 days, five larval instars occupied 15–16 days, and the pupal stage lasted 13–14 days. Egg-to-adult development took 33–36 days. [5]
The Australian account describes mature larvae as yellow-green, with darker markings and several spines. [6]
In the Visakhapatnam study, pollen accumulated on the proboscis during visits to most of the flower species examined. [5]
Papilio agamemnon is the historical combination. The species is now placed in Graphium. [4]
Singapore’s third Red Data Book lists Graphium agamemnon agamemnon as Least Concern. [2]
Scott Schubr’s Luminary Oddities illustrations depict the adult outline, short tails and green wing pattern. Edition titles identify individual compositions.
Keep the enclosure away from direct sunlight, dampness and large changes in temperature or humidity. Handle the frame, clean only its exterior, and inspect for loose fragments, moisture and pests. Retain the specimen’s original labels and follow the enclosure maker’s care instructions. [1]
